Music is a big part of Mount Olivet's worship and community experiences. Each service brings a unique style to liturgy and incorporates excellent musicians from our immediate community and beyond.

Traditional worship at 9am on Sundays showcases our adult Chancel Choir which is made up of singers of all ability levels. This service is organ or piano led.

Contemporary worship at 10:45am on Sundays is led by a live band. We have a wonderfully talented group of rotating team members who bring their unique gifts to the mix.

Contemporary OASIS worship at 6:30pm on Wednesdays is led by a live band made up of four amazing musicians, three of whom have been playing at Mount Olivet for nearly 10 years!

The Chancel Choir gathers for rehearsal each week on Wednesdays at 7:15pm.

CHANCEL CHOIR

Open to Grade 10 to age 110, the Chancel Choir is open to adults of all ages and musical abilities (no experience necessary). Singing IS connecting in community!

The Chancel Choir is Mount Olivet’s primary adult large ensemble. The choir family meets weekly to rehearse and connect through song and prayer. The Choir leads worship for 9am worship most Sundays of the program year. Come when you can, leave when you must.

Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:30pm in the Music Room.

handBell Choir

Handbell Choir returns this fall! Beginning Sunday, November 6 at 12pm. Join this crew of fun musicians to ring in the good news. All ages welcome – ability to read musical rhythms needed.

Dates:

November: 12, 19, 26 | 12-1:30pm
December: 3 | 12-1:30pm

Handbells are unique instruments that embody community: we truly need one another to make beautiful music! If you’re interested in participating in a music ensemble and need a short-term commitment - BELLS are for you!

GATHERING TEAM

Our Gathering Team is an auditioned ensemble that leads the 10:45am worship service, made up of a combination of amateur and professional musicians.

OASIS BAND

The Oasis Band is an auditioned group that leads the 6:30pm Wednesday worship service playing a mix of current contemporary music.

Children's Choir / Youth ensemble

The REJOICE! Children's Choir (grades 1-4) and the Youth Ensemble (grades 5-9) share their musical gifts periodically throughout the program year, adding to our worship life.
