Through out the listening we've done as a congregation this year, a major theme has been a hunger for cross-generational connection at Mount Olivet. On Wednesday, April 30 from 6-8pm come and connect across generations as we take a Generational Tour with guest speaker, Dawn Rundman, Ph.D. Silent Generation, Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials, Zoomers, Gen Alpha. You’ve likely heard these names for generations. Let’s dive into how understanding the experiences, values, and needs of each generation can help you develop intergenerational ministry that matters.

Dawn Rundman is a nationally-recognized presenter, author, and resource provider specializing in children's faith development. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and is currently the Director of Congregational Development and Marketing at Augsburg Fortress Publishers.

We will take time to say thank you and good-bye to Pastor Kristin and her family on Sunday, December 22. There will be ONE worship service that morning at 10am, followed by time for fellowship and celebration.

We'll have treats, take a look at the Advent calendar word of the day, share stories, and for those so inclined -- make a little art together. This MOtalk is intended for ALL AGES -- come and connect across generations on Sunday, December 1 at 10am as we enter the season of Advent. Copies of the Advent calendar will also be available during this session and on the Welcome Counter.

Curious about practical ways to nurture your kids' faith? Whether you're parenting littles or teens, come and find community with other parents along with simple practices that connect to the life your family actually has. This is not a conversation about fitting more stuff into our busy lives, so much as it is a conversation about doing less with purpose.

Join Beth McGrew-King for a book discussion of Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn't Have to Heal From by Meredith Miller. Read or listen to the book ahead of time. Then pick up a community meal (or bring your dinner) and meet in the Conference Room from 6-7:30pm on Monday, November 18. RSVP below. Friends are welcome!

Each year we remember loved ones who have passed away in the last 12 months. To commemorate them, a special worship service will be held at our Historic Chapel at 7pm on Sunday, November 5.

To include your loved one's name in the list to be read aloud during the service, please fill out the form HERE, or add their name to the list on the Welcome Counter.

Wednesdays aren’t just for kids! Whether you're looking for time to connect with God in worship, building friendships with other parents, want to try out singing in a fun and supportive community, looking for a place for kids age 3 to grade 12 to explore their faith -- there's something for nearly everyone on Wednesday nights! Come check it out this fall beginning Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30pm.

Come and find out more about volunteering with children’s ministry at Mount Olive this year.

The Bible Milestones are presented at various points in Mount Olivet's faith formation programming. At each event, children are gifted an age-appropriate Bible and are invited to explore the Bible through fun, hands-on activities, while parents and guardians who attend will get tips and tricks on how to use the Bible in an engaging way with their children. Then, at the 10:45 am service, the children and their families are recognized as participating in the milestone in front of the congregation.

The 3rd Grade Bible Milestone is the second milestone. Third graders learn more in-depth about the Bible and are presented with The Deep Blue Kids Bible, an easy-to-read modern English translation, to tie in with the promises to hear the word of God and proclaim the good news.This event is free (though donations to offset the cost of the Bibles are welcome).

If you can't attend the milestone event but would like your child to receive a Bible, please let us know in the RSVP as well.

Faith Explorers is hosting a Halloween party on Wednesday, October 25th from 7-7:45pm. Kids are encouraged to come in costume. There will be fun, games, a costume contest, and safe, indoor trick-or-treating. Sunday Faith Explorers families are encouraged to attend, too! 

 Also, don't worry, if your child forgets a costume, they can try one on from our collection of costumes from past plays and Christmas pageants.

Caregivers and their 6-12 month old infants are invited to join Jenny Anderson (M.S., Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology) in the grove for a time to build connections with other families and your children. Separate fun activities will be available for older siblings to attend. These sessions are free!
