Through out the listening we've done as a congregation this year, a major theme has been a hunger for cross-generational connection at Mount Olivet. On Wednesday, April 30 from 6-8pm come and connect across generations as we take a Generational Tour with guest speaker, Dawn Rundman, Ph.D. Silent Generation, Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials, Zoomers, Gen Alpha. You’ve likely heard these names for generations. Let’s dive into how understanding the experiences, values, and needs of each generation can help you develop intergenerational ministry that matters.

Dawn Rundman is a nationally-recognized presenter, author, and resource provider specializing in children's faith development. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and is currently the Director of Congregational Development and Marketing at Augsburg Fortress Publishers.

Join in community for a thoughtful, inclusive workshop making collage as an embodied practice of faith and examination. How might we recontextualize familiar imagery to reimagine a troubled world? What might we discover when we allow ourselves to play in the space of the unknown? Exploring trust in our instincts, emotions, and each other, we will gather to practice making as an act of prayer, alchemy, and community.

This event is funded in part by a contemplative prayer grant from St. Catherine’s University.

Meet Workshop Leader Jess Kiel-Wornson

Jess Kiel-Wornson is an interdisciplinary artist based in North Minneapolis. Using sculptural installation, collaged cultural artifact, painting, drawing, and performance, she addresses the insidiousness of the systems of power in our surroundings. Her work speaks to the material consequence of trauma in our bodies and buildings and asks us to reframe our conversations about goodness, success, and identity away from individuals and toward the systems that allow and promote violence toward some bodies distinctly from others. She received her MFA from University of Illinois Champaign Urbana. Recent collaborations include Echoes: We are Imperfect Mortal Beings (Mirror Lab, April Sellers Dance 2025), It's Physical (Southern Theater, Jagged Moves Dance, 2024), and Mariology (Mixed Blood Theater, Nancy Keystone and Critical Mass Performance Group, 2023). She is currently most accountable to her roles as artist, bonus mom, auntie, and neighbor. More musings at jkwornson.com

We will take time to say thank you and good-bye to Pastor Kristin and her family on Sunday, December 22. There will be ONE worship service that morning at 10am, followed by time for fellowship and celebration.

Whether you're parenting littles or teens, come and find community with other parents along with simple practices that connect to the life your family actually has. This is not a conversation about fitting more stuff into our busy lives, so much as it is a conversation about doing less with purpose.

For three weeks (11/13, 11/20, 12/4), 5th-8th students choose an elective learning track. Students who love singing are invited to join Angela Gritton for youth choir rehearsals and to sing in the Advent Concert on Sunday, December 8 at both services.

5th-6th students who don’t enjoy singing are invited to explore curious Old Testament Bible stories, and 7th-8th students will continue with their learning about the 10 Commandments. Whichever track students choose, they must stick with it for the three weeks.
